I reworked the wiki home page with the outline

Hey guys! I just reworked the home page a little to put the information in order for the presentation today. I used the outline that you made Michelle, thanks! And Danielle I put your information from your post into the home page outline.

I put headings for the Low cost options and SmartBoard technologies into the format but since I didn't have what you would talk about under those headings I left them blank for now. So you can either insert your own bullets, or just speak from your own notes. :) I hope this all makes sense.

PS- The handout looks great! I think we will be all set. I am going to try and get there a little early today in case we need to rework anything on the wiki etc. Thanks again!

Quest Atlantis Legend Video

Here are the points i am going to make about the blog and then QA. I would like to try to show a 2:20 video of the QA legend. I am going to time myself to see if I can fit it in...i am not sure. I will post it on here and the wiki anyway in case i can't show it and the people from our class want to see it. ANYWAY...here are my points...

BLOG
I am going to show how we used it to communicate about the project
Show that it is free and easy to use (to embed videos and pictures)
Great way to get your students to read outside of the classroom
Explain how I have used a blog in my class

QA
Very safe and protected online virtual environment
promotes learning and growth
promotes collaborative efforts (kids from all over the world can work together!)
allows for the use of online media
provides teachers with great resources, like lesson plans
there are quests for all subect areas (that deal with real life problems)
Each quest requires a written response, which is sent to the teacher for review
promotes reading and writing growth for students without them even realizing it!
*I also have the intro/legend video that i want to show in the beginning if i have time. I am going to practice it with the video to see if i have time, if not i will scratch it.

Timeline

The timeline looks great! I am working on finalizing the handout. How many should I copy? 20? I never really payed attention to how many people are in the class. Like I was telling you guys, I have done some "freeze frames" of QA and put it in a PowerPoint format. Also, I created the poll. Hopefully, it will work ok! Is there anything you would like me to put on the hand out, while I am making the finishing touches. I will post it tonight so you all can look at it. If there is something you want me to add/change, I will be home from 12-4 tomorrow and can work on it then!

I have been trying to sign on to the wiki, but it keeps saying that wetpaint has blocked the site.

Timeline/Script

Hey! I posted the timeline/script for the presentation as an attachment on the wiki. It is at the bottom of the main page of the site. Look over it and let me know what, if anything, I should change.

I posted the opening video and my portion of the presentation on the home page of the wiki. I think that will be a very organized way to present the information to the class. If you would like I can post it on the wiki myself if you just send it to me. Although, I cannot remember right now the order that we decided to present in....anyone? Bueller???
